And remember, as Mike O’Brien of Capital News Channel 9(Albany, NY) said this past Spring: “You can find some good weather in May around the northeast. Beat the crowds in Rockport, Massachusetts and enjoy a small, quaint seaside town. It’s only 40 miles north of Boston. My overnight choice? The Seaward Inn. It’s rustic, laid back and peaceful. The ocean air will do wonders for you!”

A LITTLE HISTORY

Rockport bed and breakfast front porchFollowing the end of World War II, Roger and Anne Cameron purchased a large home in Rockport, Massachusetts overlooking the majestic Atlantic Ocean. They lived in small family quarters and rented rooms to summer guests. Roger maintained their five  acres with his eye on every detail - from the country gardens, to the spring-fed swimming pond. Anne oversaw the country kitchen, which was always open - welcoming guests for a chat, a glass of lemonade, or a large chocolate chip cookie.
Daily she lovingly made certain that every guest enjoyed a truly sumptuous breakfast and dinner. A memorable tradition ensued for decades at the Seaward Inn, whereby guests were issued their own personal clothes pin for use as a napkin holder during their visit. After departure it was hung on vertical clothes lines in the "East Room" where it remained awaiting their return. A record of each visit was etched onto the clothespins – some indicating second and even third generation use by the same family.
The ocean views beckon, as did the aroma of Anne's fresh baked cookies.

The Seaward Inn now with 17 charming units, is beautifully situated on the Atlantic Ocean at the tip of scenic Cape Ann - just north of Boston, Massachusetts.

Make your great escape to the Seaward Inn.

Feel salt tinged sea breezes cool your face. Enjoy the serenity of the sounds of ocean waves breaking at your door, fog horns in the distance and the tranquil calls of the Cormorants, Gulls, Geese and Herons overhead. Now you begin to understand why thousands of our guests, for over five decades, have chosen the Seaward Inn as their perfect New England holiday.

The Cameron-Gilsey family and staff cordially welcome you home to the warmth and hospitality of the Seaward Inn. We look forward to your visit.
